Fantasy Basketball: A Player Rater’s Review 2011

Thursday, January 27, 2011

You are probably researching NBA stats for your fantasy basketball game. We are glad to help your fantasy basketball team win so here’s a review of the current player ratings. We hope you find it helpful and good luck with your fantasy basketball team.

By the time you get to read this, the National Basketball Association would have gone through 35 to 40 basketball games. Those figures mean we are on our way towards the half of the season.

When it comes to fantasy basketball, however, there is a variance in the value compared to the actual NBA game. So for this article, we will not give you the “oh name the best athlete/star player” game. What we will tell you immediately is the names of the valuable fantasy players who have done great performances up to this point in the season. Now, we shall do this by not only pointing the value of that particular player, but also taking into consideration the value where these NBA players were drafted to.

Here is the list of players. All of them are expected to keep up the great performance they’ve been doing for the rest of the NBA season. So, start writing and checking whether you should be amending some of the fantasy basketball draft picks you’ve made.

Fantasy Basketball Players to Watch For # 1: Dorell Wright of the San Francisco Warriors

They said that there is no player that has outperformed his draft status. Wright is knocking 2.6 points per game in spite of not making enough 3 pointers the season before. Yes he is widely inconsistent and his team is not motivating him enough, but he remains to be in the top 35 and is a good player to have in your fantasy team.

Fantasy Basketball Players to Watch For # 2: Wilson Chandler of the New York Knicks

Chandler is known as an elite shot blocker. Though it is worthy to point out that he has barely over one block per game as the past 17 contest would show you, Chandler’s 3-point shooting skills can be inconsistent. Chandler is a New York Knicks trade asset. Chandler is outperforming his projection throughout the season. Some people say he is a fluke. So if you own him, you might want to trade him now in your fantasy basketball league while he is hot.

Fantasy Basketball Players to Watch For # 3: Wesley Matthew from the Portland Trail Blazers

He is in the same situation as Chandler. He has fair performance with steals and free throws. He seems safe to have but won’t go much higher. Trade him if you can.
